 Mukesh Ambani (Gujarati: Mukesh Ambani; born 19 April 1957) is an Indian billionaire. He is the Chairman, Managing Director and major shareholder of Reliance Industries Limited. Reliance is one of the Fortune Global 500 companies and India's most valuable company by market value.[5][6][7] Dhirubhai later purchased a 14-storey apartment called "Sea Wind" in Calaba. Mukesh and Anil lived there with their families but on two different floors.

Mukesh studied at Hill Grange High School, Pedar Road, Mumbai. His brother Anil and his associate Anand Jain were also his classmates there. [9] He received a BE degree in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology (UDCT). [10] Mukesh later completed his MBA at Stanford University

personal life

Mukesh married Nita Ambani in 1985. They have two sons and a daughter. Elder son Anant Ambani and younger son Akash Ambani head the strategic division of Reliance Jio Infocomm. Daughter Isha Ambani is a board member of Jio and Reliance Retail.[11] They live in a private 27-storey building "Antilia" in Mumbai. The house is valued at US$1 billion and is said to be one of the most expensive houses ever built..

In a March 2017 interview with Rajdeep Sardesai, Mukesh said his favorite food is idli sambar and his favorite restaurant is Mysore Cafe in King Circle, Mumbai. While a student at UDCT from 1973 to 1977, Mukesh used to eat at the cafe in Mysore regularly.

During the financial year ending 31 March 2012, Mukesh decided to give up his annual remuneration of Rs 240 million as the head of Reliance Industries Limited. He stuck to his decision even though the total remuneration of Reliance's top executives increased in that financial year. As a result, his salary remained at Rs 150 million for the fourth year in a row.

Glory and prestige

He is the eldest son of Dhirubhai Ambani and Kokilaben Ambani and elder brother of Anil Ambani. He owns Indian Premier League side Mumbai Indians through Reliance. In 2012, Forbes named him the richest sports team owner.

He lives in Antilia, one of the most expensive private homes in the world. The house is worth about US$1 billion.[ According to a study by China's Hurun Research Institute, in 2015, Ambani ranked fifth among Indian philanthropists.

In 2016, he was ranked 38th in Forbes magazine's list of the world's most powerful people, and he is the only Indian in the list.

As of 2018, Ambani has held the position of the magazine's richest man in India for 12 consecutive years.[23]


In 2019, he is the 13th in Forbes' list of the world's richest people. His net worth is 5000 crore US dollars
